Chocolate Chip Cookies

My elementary school bff recently published a post on her awesome blog; Just Like June, a recipe for the original Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. “June” gives some great cookie baking tips, so I suggest everyone run over to her blog and read these tips!!! I love cookies, but haven’t found too many “keeper” recipes. Some how I’ve never made this recipe, and I’m glad I gave it a shot because it’s now moved into my keeper cookie recipe pile!

Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 9-11 minutes
Serves: 48 cookies (roughly)

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 12 oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F.

2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.


3. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
