Central Florida Food Blogger Bake Sale 2012
I’ve been busy the past few weeks co-organizing the second annual Central Florida Food Blogger Bake Sale with Julie from The Little Kitchen. Last year a dozen Central Florida food bloggers raised over $1,300 at our first ever bake sale, and this year we hope to raise over $2,000! As a nation of food bloggers, we raised over $25,000 to help fight childhood hunger!
Today, more than 16 million children go to bed hungry and go to school without breakfast. That’s ONE in FIVE who are without regular nutritious meals and are unable to thrive in school. Great American Bake Sale supports Share Our Strength, a national organization that works hard to surround kids with the food they need where they live, learn and play. Share Our Strength helps close gaps between nutritious food programs andfamilies in need. They help develop lasting solutions for hungry families—the difference between feeding a family tonight and ensuring that they neveragain have to worry about their next meal.
If you are not local please consider making a donation to my Virtual Bake Sale. Visit my website to donate online. This year if you donate $100 or more I will personally bake a dozen cookies and deliver them to you whether it be in person or via snail mail as a token of my appreciation for your donation!
So when is this fab shin-dig?
NEXT Saturday, April 28th from 10am to 1pm.
