Kicked Up Sandwiches w/ Chef Emeril Lagasse + Giveaway
Posted by Katie on Nov 6, 2012 in Events, giveaway, sponsored post, video | 22 commentsTwo weeks ago, I had the privilege to attend Macy’s Culinary Council event featuring Chef Emeril Lagasse. I immediately said yes when I was invited to attend. Emeril was the first celebrity chef I started watching on tv some 15+ years ago. At the time his recipes scared the hell out of me, but his charisma and confidence in the kitchen is what sold me. Now, I look back to those then recipes that scared me and I laugh. Then again, I have so much more culinary experience now.

I came well equipped to the cooking demo and book launch with not one, but two cameras, and of course my iPhone to do live social media coverage. I also brought my tripod since the last time I tried filming at a cooking demo I thought my arm was going to fall off.

The first sandwich Emeril cooked up for us was his Monte Cristo sandwich. You can watch his entire demo on how to make the Monte Cristo Sandwich below!
After Emeril showed us how to make his tasty Monte Cristo it was time to move on to Cream of Tomato Soup with Grilled Truffle Cheese Sandwiches with Proscuitto and Mushrooms. As you can tell from the photos above we even got to sample these! I love tomato soup, but I’m not going to lie I’m not a huge fan of mushrooms. I always try something once before deciding whether or not I like it… I’m so glad I did. I LOVED this sandwich! Mushrooms and all. This sandwich got an A+ in my book. This is the first sandwich I plan to make from Kicked Up Sandwiches. I know my husband is going to fall in love with this sandwich!

After Emeril’s cooking demo he did a book signing for all those who purchased $75+ worth of Emerilware by All-Clad. Plus those who made a purchased got his book for free (with autograph and mini meet and greet)!
