A mixture of blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries paired with yogurt and a dash of honey make for this 5-minute Mixed Berry Smoothie recipe.
I love making berry smoothie recipes. This mixed berry smoothie is one of my go-to’s and favorites. It only requires three simple ingredients, which I almost always have on hand. I love to keep frozen berries on hand to whip up delicious smoothie recipes on a whim.
I’ve mentioned it before, but my husband is the king at making smoothies. He’s normally the one who comes up with the different variations. Then I refine the smoothie recipe for the blog. We have been making this mixed berry smoothie flavor combo for years now.
In this post you will find all the information you need on how to make a berry smoothie.
Ingredients
This smoothie recipe only includes a few ingredients. This Berry Smoothie without Banana is sweetened by the vanilla yogurt, honey, and natural sweetener from the fruit.
- Yogurt – I like to use vanilla whole milk yogurt. But you can use Greek yogurt for a tangier smoothie or even a strawberry or blueberry yogurt to give additional berry flavor.
- Mixed Berries – I love to use frozen berries so that way I don’t have to use ice.
- Honey – My family prefers sweeter smoothies, so I almost always add honey to my smoothies.
Directions
Place the vanilla yogurt in a blender, followed by berries, and honey. *Always place the liquid or softer ingredients on the bottom of the blender. This will help prevent it from jamming and ensure it begins to puree immediately.
Close lid, and blend for 45-60 seconds on high until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy!
FAQs
Options for liquids in smoothies include: milk, non-dairy milk’s like oat, almond, or cashew, coconut water, or juice. For added protein I like to use milk, which contain 8 to 10 grams per cup.
You can use either milk or juice it’s all based on preference. Milk will yield a creamier smoothie and like mentioned above contains typically more protein.
I love to use frozen fruit in place of ice in smoothies. It chills the smoothie without adding additional liquid to the smoothie.
When fruits and vegetables are picked at their ripest and frozen immediately they retain similar nutritional value that fresh fruits and vegetables have.
Tips & Tricks
Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks I’ve found helpful when making this recipe.
- Frozen fruit – I love to use frozen fruit in smoothies instead of ice.
- Dairy Free – Looking to have the same creamy texture without the dairy? You can add in a dairy free yogurt or even almond or oat milk. Just remember to use less liquid if opting for that.
- Vegan Smoothie option – Omit the honey and replace with agave syrup. Also omit the dairy filled yogurt for a vegan friendly option.

Seriously the best and the simplest berries smoothie! I tried other smoothies that contains banana and milk, but nothing compares to berries and yogurt together. Thank you for the recipe!
Katie
Salma, so happy you enjoyed this recipe. Thank you for taking the time to leave a 5 star review.

Hi Katie, I came across your post today . I had a bit of a giggle, as I’ve been making the exact same smoothie. The only difference is I use raw honey, I have to admit it’s one devine smoothie to drink. I also use frozen berry mix as I find it makes for a thicker consistently. Thank you
Katie
Hi Nikki–yes this combo is the best!

Lol Amy–I’m seriously going to turn into a smoothie at the rate I’m making them!

I’ll definitely be trying this! I love the color! I learned how to use my DSLR on manual…I had read so much about it and took the plunge from the beginning. I love it!
Katie
Cassie that is awesome! I wish I would have challenged myself from the beginning, too. I’m slowly getting there and feeling comfortable.

So glad you’re expanding and using the M mode. It’s so hard and I’m still learning but I love how much control you have over the photos.
This smoothie looks amazing btw. It would the perfect post-workout snack!
Katie
Thanks Chung-Ah! It is challenging but the more I make myself photograph in manual the better I’m getting. Yes–perfect post-workout snack.

I am scared of the manual button on my camera, lol. Your photos look fabulous and so does this smoothie!
Katie
Jennifer you just need to take the plunge and set aside a good half hour. Just force yourself to learn. That’s what I did! 🙂
