Flour, sugar, butter, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, baking powder, espresso powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
In a saucepan set over low heat, melt the butter, then add the sugar and stir to combine.
Mix dry ingredients with eggs then carefully pour in the hot butter/sugar mixture. Then add in half the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into a greased pan and top with additional chocolate chips. Bake for 30 minutes until set.
Heating this butter / sugar mixture dissolves more of the sugar, which will yield a shiny crust on top of the brownies.
Remove them from the oven and cool on a rack for at least 30 minutes before cutting and serving.
