Frozen Strawberry Margaritas

Frozen Strawberry Margaritas come together from scratch in about five minutes time using fresh strawberries, limeaid, tequila, and Cointreau. Garnish the rim with strawberry sugar, a lime, and a fresh strawberry. My larger blender batch of margaritas makes four servings perfect for entertaining!

Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. fresh strawberries
  • 2 cups ice
  • ½ cup  tequila
  • ½ cup Limeaid
  • 3 tablespoons  Cointreau
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Strawberry sugar
  • Lime wedges and fresh strawberries for garnish

Instructions

  • Rinse and cut the tops off of the strawberries.
  • Combine strawberries, ice, tequila, lime aid, and Cointreau in a blender. Blend for 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth.
  • Slice a lime wedge in half. Rub the lime wedge around the rim of each glass and then place glass on plate and spin to garnish rim with strawberry sugar.
  • Pour the margaritas into glasses. Garnish strawberry margaritas with a lime wedge and fresh strawberry. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Strawberries - Instead of fresh strawberries, you can use frozen strawberries. If you do this I would lessen the amount of ice used to ensure you don't have watery margaritas. I would only use 1 cup of ice.
  • Sweetener - If you are looking for a sweeter margarita you can add 2-3 tablespoons agave syrup or simple syrup to the blender before blending.
  • Rim - If you don't like sugar on your rim you can use coarse salt instead.
