  • 28 oz Fire-Roasted Crushed Tomatoes
  • 14.5 oz Fire-Roasted Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 onion diced
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 6 Hot Italian Sausages
  • 6 Sub Rolls
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 roasted red bell peppers sliced
  • 1 caramelized onions

  • In a KitchenAid® 6-Quart Slow Cooker with Easy Serve Lid with 4 temperature settings add crushed and diced fire-roasted tomatoes to vessel. Then add diced onions, garlic, chopped parsley, and Italian seasoning. Stir well, then place hot Italian Sausages in vessel. Make sure each sausage is covered with sauce. Cook on high for 3.5 hours or low 7-8 hours.
  • During the last 30 minutes of cooking, begin prepping your sub toppings: caramelizing onions (thinly slice onions and cook with butter/olive oil on medium-low for 15-20 minutes) and roasting red bell peppers.
  • Once the sausage is done cooking place each sausage on the sub rolls, followed by layers of roasted red bell pepper, provolone cheese, and caramelized onions. Broil on high for 2-3 minutes or until cheese melted and bubbling.
