My Air Fryer Sausage is made in 12 minutes time with crispy skin and juicy meat. These Italian Sausage links are perfect to serve with pasta, on subs with peppers and onions, or just eat on their own.
While Air Fryer preheats, spray the wire tray with non-stick cooking spray. Then place the Italian Sausage on top of the tray. Make 1-2 small slits in each of the links.
Place the wire tray of sausage in the Air Fryer. Cook for 12 minutes, flipping the sausage half way through to give an even crispy browned skin.
Carefully, remove from the Air Fryer, divide on plates and enjoy.
Notes
Prevent Smoking - Like bacon and other fatty foods, Italian sausage has a lot of fat. It is best to cook on a lower heat and always make sure your Air Fryer is not only cleaned well before cooking in it and slits are poked in the sausage before cooking to prevent fat from spraying out of the casing.
Different Types of Sausage - Like mentioned above, you can use this same method to make chicken sausage, brats, and even breakfast sausage. Make sure you cut slits in any sausage that has a casing to prevent smoking.
Preheat Air Fryer - I always like to preheat my Air Fryer for a few minutes while I'm getting ingredients out and/or prepped.
Resting at Room Temperature - I like to let my sausage rest on the counter for a few minutes before I throw them in the Air Fryer. By bringing them to room temperature or close to it -- it helps for even cooking time!
