Easy to make Apple Pie Spice from #apple #spice #DIY #Recipe

Apple season is in full force. Blogs and websites are swarming with new recipes and the stores are filled with a wide variety apples. Last week, I had the chance to visit FirstFruits in Washington State. This was the first time I’ve ever traveled to the state and been to an apple orchard! I can not tell you enough how blessed I feel to have had the opportunity to go on this trip. I will never look at an apple the same way again after learning what goes into producing apples. Farm to table… and its amazing. Some might say, I’m going a little over board saying this was a life changing trip; however, it really was. The Broetje family opened their home and hearts up to a few of us bloggers and I cannot thank them enough.

Not only are they amazing entrepreneurs but all about making social change. They donate millions of dollars each year to over 30 charities around the world!  All from part of the profits made by growing apples. Who would have known? The best part is that they are all so humble. They don’t see there selves as entrepreneurs, but as farmers.

Enough about my trip (I’ll share more next week)… let’s talk about apple pie spice. After going to the store last month to make my Apple Cinnamon Scones I had a difficult time finding apple pie spice. So I did what any food blogger does, and I did a little research and then made my own! It just so happened that all of the spices that go into Apple Pie Spice I had already owned. I love when that happens and I don’t have to spend any extra money!
