If you love the flavor of fried breaded pork chops you’ll love this healthier version of my Air Fried Pork Chops done in under a half hour. All you need is thin cut pork chops, flour, some spices, eggs, and bread crumbs and a generous spray of olive oil and dinner will be served in no time.
If you love a good crispy breaded pork chop you are going to love my Air Fried Pork Chops recipe. My husband loves crunchy golden pork chops; however, I’ve rarely ever been able to obtain this perfect pork chop status for him. I never achieved this in the over–they were always soggy. So then I would be forced to fry them in a bunch of oil on the stove top. I would either get crunchy burnt pork chops or just barely crunchy pork chops and then I had a stinky house for days.
That was until I decided to give pork chops a try in the Air Fryer. Yes, the Air Fryer. The first time I made the pork chops my husband and I both knew that this was going to be my new go-to method. I’m confident that once you try making pork chops in the Air Fryer this will be the only way you will cook them, too.

Ingredients
- Pork Chops – You can use boneless pork chops or even bone-in. I like to use thinner pork chops but half-inch thick pork chops will work too.
- Flour – All purpose flour is what I like to use.
- Seasonings – I use a blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and season salt.
- Bread Crumbs – I like to use Italian Bread Crumbs but plain work as well.
- Eggs – Two eggs work for the egg wash.
How to Cook Pork Chops in Air Fryer
Preheat the Air Fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes.
Season the raw pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
While Air Fryer preheats, mix together the all purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, season salt, and black pepper. Mix and scramble eggs in a separate dish, and place a third dish next to the eggs with the Italian Bread Crumbs.
Spray Air Fryer wire racks (or basket) with olive oil.
Then place a pork chop in the flour mixture coating both sides. Next, place in the egg wash coating both sides and then dip and coat both sides in the bread crumb mixture.
Place the breaded pork chop on the wire rack (or basket) making sure to not crowd. Repeat until all the pork chops are coated.
Spray the tops of the pork chops with olive oil or avocado oil spray. Either works for this recipe.
Place the breaded pork chops in the Air Fryer and cook for 8 minutes. Flip and spray with olive oil spray and cook for an additional 5 minutes until golden and crispy and internal temperature reads at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
Serve immediately and enjoy.
How to Cook Pork Chops in the Oven
If you don’t have an Air Fryer you can make these pork chops using the oven. Follow the breading steps. Place the pork chops on a wire rack that sits on top of a baking tray. Make sure to spray the baking tray. Cook at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. You can flip the pork chops half way through if you’d like.

I like to cook my pork chops at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. The time will vary on the thickness of the pork chop.
Air fry the breaded pork chops until the internal temperature reaches at least 145 degrees Fahrenheit. You can test this by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the pork chop.
Yes, you can absolutely put raw meat in the air fryer. In fact, it’s what I do on an almost nightly basis! I suggest giving this air fryer pork chop recipe a try first as it is super simple to make and yields crispy breading on the outside and juicy pork in the inside.
Set the air fryer to the temperature of which the recipe calls for. Let it begin to warm up for at least 5 minutes. Take note, some air fryers will preheat as soon as you set the time and temperature for the recipe. Always, read your user manual to see if your air fryer preheats on it’s own.
Tips & Tricks
Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks I’ve learned when making this recipe.
- Air Fryer – Depending on the style Air Fryer you own will depend if you can cook all the pork chops at one time. I have a PowerXL Vortex which is more of an oven type that has multiple trays. This air fryer allows me to cook up to 6 pork chops at one time. I have also tested this recipe in the Instant™ Vortex™ 5.7-quart Air Fryer which is the basket style (and found that the pork chops turned out the best with that model, and tested in the Instant Omni™ Pro 18L Toaster Oven and Air Fryer. The results turned out the same as the PowerXL Vortext brand since they are both the oven styles.
- Preheating – The “Instant” brand air fryer automatically preheats when you set the time and temperature. Where as the PowerXL Vortex does not automatically preheat and you will need to add on 5 additional minutes to the time to allow the oven to come to preheated temperature.
- Spray Oil – The key to crispy air fried pork chops is using a spray oil. I like to use olive oil but you could also use avocado oil. Either one works fine!
- Season – Always season the pork chops prior to breading. This ensures a flavorful chop!
