The summer months in Florida are hot. What better way to cool off then make these easy 3-Ingredient Orange Creamsicle Yogurt Pops! By combining Orange Juice, Vanilla Yogurt, and a little powdered sugar you have a refreshing treat! You can use a traditional ice pop mold or use the ZOKU Quick Pop Maker (which is exactly what I used for this recipe, making it a quick treat in minutes). I made 4 ice pops in 20 minutes. In between making batches I just froze the first two to keep them cold. Although if you have family members that can’t wait to cool off you could just let them enjoy them immediately.

Ingredients

Ingredients on marble counter in glass bowls; vanilla yogurt, powder sugar, and orange juice.
  • Orange Juice – I prefer pulp free, but use whatever you have on hand. You can also freshly squeeze oranges to obtain the juice from them.
  • Yogurt – I prefer Stonyfield Whole Milk Vanilla Yogurt. It gives a delicious creamy flavor and is packed full of nutrients.
  • Powder Sugar – I sweetened up our pops with a little powdered sugar. You can also use sugar substitutes like agave or even honey. Or simply leave it out all together.

Directions

For making with a ZOKU Quick Pop Maker:

Whisk the ingredients in a bowl. Insert the sticks into the ZOKU and pour the yogurt mixture until you reach the fill line. Set a timer and let it freeze completely (about 10 minutes). Remove the pops with the Super Tool and enjoy. Repeat with remaining pops.

For making with a traditional ice pop mold:

Whisk the ingredients in a bowl (or food processor/blender). Pour into the ice pop mold. *Follow instructions on how to place sticks into the mold. Freeze according to ice pop mold instructions. Typically 6-8 hours in the freezer.

Pro Tip: Run a traditional ice pop mold under luke warm water to easily remove the ice pop from the mold.

FAQs

What does Creamsicle mean?

According to wikipedia: “Noun. creamsicle (plural creamsicles) A flavored popsicle with an ice cream core. Any of various sweet and creamy mixed drinks.”

Are Orange Creamsicles gluten free?

My recipe for Orange Creamsicle Pops is gluten free. Yogurt, orange juice, and powder sugar are naturally gluten free. If you have a food allergy. Always check product packaging prior to cooking to make sure your items are gluten free.

What is the difference between a Creamsicle and a dreamsicle?

The two terms are very similar. The difference between the two is that a Creamsicle is made with ice cream (in this recipes case yogurt). A Dreamsicle is traditionally made with ice milk.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks I’ve found helpful when making this recipe.

  • Mix – You can mix the ingredients with a whisk in a large bowl. Or you can use a food processor or even a blender to do a quick mix.
  • Recipes – Make these popsicles healthier by using no sugar or a sugar substitute like honey or agave nectar.
  • Vegan Popsicles – Instead of using the yogurt, you can make these dairy free or even vegan by using full fat coconut milk.

Frozen Treat Recipes

Looking to make more frozen treats? Here are a few of my favorite treats to cool off all summer long.

  • Strawberry, Beet & Banana Popsicles
  • S’mores Popsicle’s
  • Blood Orange Pudding Pops
  • Mango Raspberry Pops
  • Easy Raspberry Lemonade Pops

I originally created this recipe June, 1, 2015 and updated with more helpful information and facts on how to make the very best creamsicles.

I love looking back on recipes from the past. My sweet baby was just over a year old Ryder loved the orange creamsicles. I tried letting Ryder hold the ice pop but he had no desire. From the moment I let him lick the pop he couldn’t stop. This was the summer that I started to introduce frozen ice pops to him. He loved every variation I shared with him.

If you make this recipe, I would be honored and love for you to take the time to leave a star rating and comment! I spend hours developing and testing these recipes, and always love to hear feedback and user experience!
