Garlic & Herb Whipped Feta via KatiesCucina.com

We love feta in my house. Our favorite way to eat it as a main dish is with my baked feta pasta recipe. That is almost as easy to make as this dip. When we aren’t eating it in the pasta form we are eating it spread on a crostini.

Whipped feta dip is an incredibly easy and versatile recipe that elevates any dish with its creamy texture and savory flavor. This delightful spread, made with just two simple ingredients, can be prepared in minutes, making it a perfect easy appetizer. Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or simply want to enhance your everyday meals, whipped feta is the answer.

Why This Recipe Works

Quick and Easy: With only two ingredients and minimal prep time, this recipe is perfect for those who want a delicious spread without the fuss.

Versatile: Whipped feta can be used in various dishes, from sandwiches and wraps to dips and toppings for grilled vegetables or meats.

Impressive Flavor: The combination of cream cheese and feta with garlic and herbs creates a rich and tangy flavor that will impress your guests and elevate any meal.

Ingredients

Cream Cheese – One block of cream cheese that has been set out for at least a half hour and has softened to room temperature will be the base of this delicious feta spread.

Feta – I love to use a flavored feta like the Garlic and Herb variety, but any flavor will work. I have made this with plain feta and it works but not very flavorful. I also recommend using the already separated feta verse a block of feta.

Directions

I find that making feta dip is easiest if you have a KitchenAid Stand mixer. In a stand mixer using the flat beater blade, add the cream cheese (at room temperature) and mix on medium speed for 30 seconds.

Then add the feta with garlic and herbs to the bowl and beat for an additional 30 seconds.

You will want to use this right away or place in a sealed container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

FAQs

Garlic & Herb Whipped Feta via KatiesCucina.com
Can I use plain feta instead of feta with garlic and herbs?

Yes, you can use plain feta and add your own garlic and herbs to taste.

How long can I store feta cheese dip in the refrigerator?

Feta cheese dip can be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Can I use a hand mixer instead of a stand mixer?

Yes, a hand mixer will work just as well. Just ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.

Can I freeze whipped feta?

Freezing is not recommended as it may alter the texture of the Greek feta dip

What can I serve with whipped feta?

Whipped feta is perfect with pita bread, crackers, fresh veggies, or as a spread on sandwiches and wraps. I also love to serve this onto a Greek crostini with whipped feta.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks whenever I make this whipped feta recipe.

  • Greek Yogurt – If you are looking for a lighter dip you can use 1 cup of Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese. This will give you a much more authentic dip than the cream cheese based (and cut some of the calories).
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure your cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing to achieve a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Customization: Feel free to add extra herbs, spices, or a drizzle of olive oil to enhance the flavor to your liking.
  • Serving Suggestions: Try serving this feta cheese dip with a drizzle of honey for a sweet and savory combination or mix in some roasted red peppers for a touch of sweetness and color.
  • Presentation: For a visually appealing presentation, sprinkle some fresh herbs like dill or additional crumbled feta on top before serving.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep the spread fresh and flavorful for up to a week.
