Learn how to make this easy dessert recipe for homemade Strawberry Raspberry Nutella Dessert Tacos. Cinnamon Sugar coated flour tortillas are filled with fresh fruit, Nutella, and topped with whipped cream. These dessert tacos are sure to be the hit at your next fiesta!

Get ready for a sinful dessert that your guest will be asking for more. It’s no secret that I love tacos. And a dessert taco… Sign me up for two or three. My Strawberry-Raspberry Nutella Dessert Tacos came about after I wanted to serve a dessert taco for a Cinco de Mayo party.
I feel like I can get away with eating at least one (if not more) because of the fresh strawberries and raspberries. The fresh fruit balances the deep fried cinnamon sugar taco shell and the healthy serving of Nutella and freshly whipped cream! At least that’s how my mind thinks! Lol. In all seriousness, the fresh fruit really does balance out this taco.

How to Make Strawberry Dessert Tacos
I’m going to break down how easy it is to make these dessert tacos. Keep in mind–there are quite a few steps. The steps can be broken up over the course of a day or done all at one time. I always find it best to have someone else helping me assemble while I fry taco shells.
How to Make Cinnamon Sugar
In a large shallow dish mix together the granulated sugar and the cinnamon. Set to the side.
How to Make Dessert Taco Shells
In a large skillet heat the canola oil until bubbly and hot (you can test by sprinkling a little tiny bit of sugar into the skillet if it starts to bubble it’s ready to fry).
Place one tortilla in the skillet cook for 10 seconds then using tongs flip over, and begin to fold in half. Continue to hold one side of the tortilla with tongs. Then flip to ensure the other side cooks evenly. Remove from the skillet. Make sure to cook each tortilla individually as you need to tend to each one. I found a taco press on Amazon that I’m totally tempted to buy to help simplify the process.
Dip both sides in the cinnamon sugar and sprinkle cinnamon sugar in the inside of the taco shell. Shake excess cinnamon sugar off and set to the side. Repeat until all the taco shells are cooked.
Once the taco shells are cooked, chop 1 cup fresh strawberries and rinse half cup raspberries. Place them off to the side.

How to Make Whipped Cream
Add heavy cream and powdered sugar to a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment. Whip on low and then gradually increase the speed until stiff peaks form (about 1 minute). Place in a piping bag or a ziplock baggy and cut a corner tip off to pipe!
How to Assemble Dessert Tacos
Have the cinnamon sugar coated taco shells near by. To easily spread the Nutella, add Nutella into a sandwich baggy and cut one side of the corner with scissors. This will allow you to pipe in the Nutella into the bottom of the taco shell. Divide the nutella evenly among the taco shells. Then add in fruit. Lastly garnish each taco with a generous serving of whipped cream.
Just so you know, you can cook these a few hours before your dinner and leave them on the counter and they will be fine. I wouldn’t push it by more than 4 hours I would fear that they would begin to start to taste stale.

FAQs
Yes, you can absolutely double this recipe. You should have plenty of cinnamon sugar and enough whipped cream. Just cook additional taco shells, add more Nutella to the bag and fresh fruit.
One of my favorite things to do with extra tortillas is to make these dessert tacos. Fry the flour tortillas and then coat them with cinnamon sugar and make these strawberry dessert tacos or even dip the shells in chocolate and stuff with ice cream.
I only cook enough cinnamon-sugar taco shells that we need for dessert that evening. It’s typically not worth trying to save them as they can sometimes get soggy or stale very quickly. It’s best to not have leftover dessert taco shells.
Tips & Tricks
Here are my tips and tricks when making nutella tacos.
- Make more – You can easily make additional tacos then just 4. Prep double the amount of fruit and make additional taco shells.
- All Hands On Deck – This recipe moves quickly and if you are entertaining it’s best to have a friend or two help you. One on frying taco shells, one on stuffing, and the other on serving.
- Make Ahead – If you want to simplify the process you can make ahead a few of the components to these dessert tacos.
- Fruit – Prep fruit ahead of time and store in an airtight container until you are ready to assemble the dessert tacos.
- Sugar Mixture – Mix cinnamon sugar ahead of time for the tacos.
- Whipped Cream – Prepare the whipped cream a few hours prior. Place in a container, whip with a whisk if needed prior to placing in a piping bag.
- Piping Bag & Tip- If you have never piped frosting or whipped cream I’m hear to share with you my easy tricks. Place the whipped cream in a piping bag or a ziplock baggy. Cut a little bit of the tip off to pipe. I used the Wilton Tips Star 2110 to pipe the whipped cream on to the tacos. This just gives it a fancy appearance. Not necessary but if you want your tacos to look just like mine you can use the same tip. All I did was place the tip into a zip lock baggy, cut the corner and push the tip through.
