Baked Buffalo Queso Fresco Wings #superbowl #entertaining #appetizer #recipe

Baked Wings are a healthier option to their fried counterparts. These baked wings are done in under an hours time.

Top view of a plastic container with wings topped with cheese and green onions.

If you love wings, but don’t always love the calories you will love my easy Baked Wings recipe. Best of all no fried wings here but still all the same delicious tastes. For these wings I’ve tossed them in buffalo sauce then topped with Mexican crumbling cheese called queso fresco and some sliced green onions.

Ingredients

Clear plastic container with red lid on bottom filled with wings and celery and sauce on the side.

  • Chicken – Chicken wings with tips removed and drums and flaps separated.
  • Sauce – Buffalo sauce found at the grocery store.
  • Queso Fresco – Soft Mexican crumbling cheese.
  • Green Onions – A few to top the wings is all you need.
  • Seasoning – A mix of salt and pepper or you could even use house seasoning.

Directions

Buffalo wings in a plastic container on a burlap cloth.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • While the oven is preheating, arrange the chicken wings on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
  • Bake the chicken wings for 40 minutes or until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Carefully remove the chicken wings from the oven once they are done cooking and place into a large bowl. Pour ⅓ cups buffalo sauce over wings and toss until evenly coated.
  • Place chicken wings on a serving dish and sprinkle with crumbled queso fresco and thinly sliced green onions.
