Nothing is better then fresh cut homemade french fries. My Air Fryer French Fries require very little oil and yield a crispy french fry on the outside and a soft middle.

Do you love fresh cut french fries? Something about them makes me just want to gobble up a whole plate by myself. I stopped making them for quite sometime that was until I got my air fryer. Then I started experimenting and perfected making french fries in the Air Fryer. They go perfectly with my Air Fryer hot dogs, sliders, grilled chicken sandwich, or even just as an appetizer by themself.

To make air fryer crinkle cut fries all you need is a crinkle cut chopper. Follow the same steps and instead of using a vegetable slicer use the chopper.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks I’ve learned when making fries in air fryer.

  • Oil – You will want to use an oil with a high smoke point like avocado oil or grapeseed oil. You can also use olive oil just know that your fries may burn as you are cooking them at a higher temp then what is recommended for olive oil.
  • Seasonings – If you want to season your fries with something other then salt and pepper I highly suggest Seasoning Salt, Old Bay Seasoning, Cajun Seasoning, Blackening Season, Tanjin, Truffle Powder, dried rosemary to name a few.
  • Toppings – I like to add chili, shredded cheese, and even bacon to my fries!
  • Crispy Fries – If you like crispy fries you may want to increase the cook time by 3-5 minutes.
  • Potatoes – I find that Russet potatoes work best for french fries. You can leave the skin on or take the time to peel it off.
