Make a small batch of my Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip for an easy go-to afternoon snack, a healthy salad dressing, or the perfect party dip!

White dip with carrots, celery, cucumbers, and tomatoes.

Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip is the perfect healthier dip that compliments your favorite fresh veggies, pita, or even chips! This ranch dip with Greek yogurt is one of my favorite dips to make year round and best of all it only takes minutes. I also feel good knowing exactly what’s in it since it’s made from basic pantry spices and the main star, tangy Greek yogurt.

Whether I am entertaining or simply snacking either poolside or for after school snacks, this dip can always be found in my refrigerator. If you are looking for School Lunch Ideas for Kids, adding my protein packed Greek yogurt ranch will be a delicious addition.

PRO TIP: I find that I like to make this recipe on a Sunday. Then portion it out, so it’s an easy grab and go snack during the week or easy addition for the lunchbox each morning!

Ingredients

Ingredients on counter: chives, garlic powder, parsley, greek yogurt, onion powder, onion flakes, pepper, salt, and dill.
  • Yogurt – I like to use Plain Greek Yogurt for a little extra tang.
  • Seasonings – You will be making your own ranch dressing powder and here is the combinations of spices you will need; onion powder, dried onion flakes, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, dried parsley, and dried dill.

Directions

Glass bowl with spices and yogurt inside it.

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients.

Glass bowl filled with white dip and a hand stirring with a spoon.

Mix well until all ingredients are blended.

White dip with carrots, celery, cucumbers, and tomatoes.

Refrigerate for a half hour. Then serve immediately or store in an air-tight container for up to 1 week.

Recipe FAQs

Is Greek yogurt healthier than sour cream?

Yes, Greek yogurt is lower in calories and fat and higher in protein than full-fat sour cream. Which makes it a good alternative when trying to cut calories and add more protein to your diet.

How long does Greek yogurt dip last?

Typically, it’s a good for up to 1 week. You may be able to store longer depending on the expiration on the yogurt. Make sure you write the expiration date on the ranch dip container.

Can we replace sour cream with Greek yogurt?

Yes, you can definitely replace sour cream with the Greek yogurt called for in this recipe. Just know that the nutrition facts will change using a fuller fat / high calories base.

Can I replace plain yogurt with Greek yogurt?

Yes, the great thing is that Greek yogurt is pretty versatile and can be interchanged with the lesser tangier version of yogurt, plain! Just make sure it’s plain and not flavored and you will be okay. As always, nutritional information will change.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks when making ranch dip with Greek yogurt.

  • Recipe Yields – This recipe yields one cup and serving size is based on one tablespoon.
  • Ranch Seasoning – You can use a packet of ranch seasoning in place of all the herbs and seasonings.
  • Storage – I like to store the dressing in a glass container in the refrigerator. Any air-tight container will work.
  • Fresh Herbs – If you have fresh herbs on hand feel free to use those in place of the dried version. You may find you might need to use more fresh herbs as they aren’t as pungent and concentrated like the dried herbs are.

Easy Sauce Recipes

If you love dips as much as I do here are a few more of my favorite easy sauce recipes.
