Get all the comforting flavors of Thanksgiving in one easy meal with my Crockpot Turkey and Stuffing recipe. It takes just 10 minutes to prep and slow cooks to perfection—complete with turkey, stuffing, and sweet potatoes in every bite.

Thanksgiving dinner is one of my all time favorite meals. I love to make a turkey dinner at least a few times throughout the year. I don’t love how long a traditional turkey dinner takes to make. If I’m not making my Instant Pot Turkey Tenderloin recipe then I’m making my Crockpot turkey and stuffing recipe makes it easy to make year round. Turkey breast and homemade stuffing cook in a slow cooker for 5 hours. This is half of the meal made in minutes and cooked relatively hands-off. I love to add mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, and a veggie like my southern green beans or even a classic green bean casserole. Of course, don’t forget the applesauce cobbler and pumpkin pie!

Why this Recipe Works
Effortless One-Pot Meal – Everything cooks together in the slow cooker—turkey, stuffing, and sweet potatoes—making it a complete, hands-off meal with minimal cleanup.
Tender, Juicy Turkey – The slow cooking process locks in moisture, ensuring your turkey stays flavorful and tender without drying out.
All the Flavors of Thanksgiving Anytime – You don’t have to wait for the holidays to enjoy a cozy, homemade feast. This recipe delivers classic Thanksgiving taste any day of the week with just 10 minutes of prep.
Ingredients

- Turkey – You’ll want to use a boneless turkey breast for this recipe. The turkey will be fork tender after it’s done cooking and I would be afraid that the bones from the turkey breast would fall into the stuffing.
- Veggies – After the turkey is placed in the slow cooker I’ll add in diced onions, celery, and sweet potatoes.
- Seasonings – The only seasoning I use is to season the turkey breast. I use a combination of poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. I will garnish the top of the dinner with some dried parsley.
- Stuffing Mix – I find a bag of the seasoned cubed stuffing mix works best for this recipe.
- Butter – I use 4 tablespoons / ¼ cup salted butter that i cube into tinier pieces to make 8 pieces of butter.
- Broth – I like to use a low-sodium chicken broth. However, if you can find turkey stock I would use that first.
How to Make Crockpot Turkey and Stuffing

First, chop the onions and celery. Then peel and chop the sweet potatoes into as even as pieces as possible.

Spray non-stick cooking spray all around the inside of the slow cooker. Then place the turkey breast in the bottom of the slow cooker. Season both sides with the poultry season, salt, and pepper. Add 2 tablespoons of butter on top of the turkey breast (cubing the butter into 4 smaller pieces).
Add the onion, celery, and sweet potato on top of the turkey breast.
Then pour the cubed stuffing mix on top of the vegetables.
Pour the low sodium chicken broth on top of the stuffing mix. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of cubed butter on top of the stuffing. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 5 hours.

Once the dinner is done. Carefully remove the turkey breast from the bottom of the slow cooker. Insert a meat thermometer in the meat to ensure the internal cooking temperature has reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Stir the stuffing mixture. Slice the turkey breast and mix the stuffing into the broth to ensure all stuffing has been coated and is soft. Serve immediately.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks I’ve learned when making crockpot turkey.
- Turkey Breast – If you cannot find a boneless turkey breast you can remove the turkey breast off the bone yourself or ask your butcher to cut the breast off the bone for you. I have not tested this recipe with a bone in turkey breast. I would be afraid bones would fall out and get mixed into the stuffing mixture.
- Chicken Breast – You can also use this exact recipe and make chicken and stuffing crockpot recipe instead!
- Vegetables – If you don’t like sweet potatoes you can omit the potato all together. Or you can even add in diced carrots and peas if you desire. Totally optional but give you multiple options.
- Stuffing – If you prefer cornbread stuffing over traditional bread stuffing use a bag of cornbread stuffing mix instead.
- Serving suggestions – You can eat this meal as is; however, I like to add mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. I’ll even make green bean casserole with cheese, sauteed green beans, or creamed spinach.

I first made this a few years ago working as a teacher assistant for a class who wanted to do a Friendsgiving before break. The most defiant kid in the room got wide eyed and said, “oh my God, this is so good… better than mom’s!” It melted my heart! I am using this again for this year’s unusually small Thanksgiving gathering. Thank you for providing this great recipe!

Leta, this makes my heart so happy! Thank you so much for sharing! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'd definitely give this a go, my family seriously need a break from red meat, lol! I can cook but it has to be one of those crockpot recipes. I find it really easy yet very yummy! You can simply assemble everything in a crokpot, plug it in and then forget all about it until dinner time, lol! I think it can only get complicated when there's sauteing involved, but even that you can easily pull of.

why doesn’t the ‘jump to recipe’ ever work!
Katie says
Judy, sorry to hear that my jump to recipe button doesn’t work for you. It seems to work fine on my end, but I’ll escalate this issue to my tech team to ensure it is working properly!
